DEACTIVATION OF FIREARM

the “BANC NATIONAL D’EPREUVE” DEACTIVATES SMALL ARMS, MEDIUM AND LARGE CALIBRE WEAPON SYSTEMS

BACKGROUND

In 1978, the deactivation of all small calibre firearms is given to the Saint-Etienne Proof House. Since 2006, the technical operators are able to certify the weapon systems in situ.

ARMS DEACTIVATION

The procedure, coming from the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015 / 2403 of 15 December 2015, is aimed at preventing the firearm from being fired using technical processes which do not damage it or alter its appearance. This department is meant for collectors, museums, gunsmiths and authorities.

ARMS DESTRUCTION

The Banc National d’Epreuve is authorized to destroy the arms according to the french laws in force.
